Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Atlanta, GA to lead electrical engineering and construction activities across Mission Critical, Data Center, and Industrial projects nationwide.

You will review electrical systems, develop estimates and budgets, coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and vendors, and mentor junior engineers while guiding project turnover and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Experience on large commercial/industrial, mission critical, or data center projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS and critical power infrastructure.
• Experience with commissioning, startup, testing, and turnover of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of construction processes, estimating, scheduling and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering and construction activities through project lifecycle.
• Review electrical systems and provide technical recommendations during design and construction.
• Develop electrical estimates, budgets, and preconstruction documentation.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Support constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives.
• Procure electrical equipment and develop project scope.
• Conduct field inspections and support QA/QC efforts.
• Lead commissioning activities, testing, and project turnover.
• Provide electrical sequencing and scheduling input for project delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead electrical engineering and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle

Desired Background

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, Mission Critical, or data center projects
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and critical power infrastructure
• Experience with commissioning, startup, testing, and electrical system turnover
• Knowledge of construction processes, estimating, scheduling, and project execution
• Experience reviewing construction documents, shop drawings, and technical specifications
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment

Preferred Experience

• Mission Critical or Data Center project experience
• Advanced Manufacturing or Semiconductor project experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with BIM, Revit, Navisworks, or related construction technologies
