We are partnering with an established, multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Houston-based engineering team. This opportunity is ideal for an electrical engineering professional with a strong background in electrical system design, power distribution, and multidisciplinary project execution. The successful candidate will take ownership of complex electrical engineering deliverables, provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, and collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and analysis of electrical systems across commercial, industrial, institutional, and other engineering projects.
• Design electrical power distribution, lighting, grounding, controls, and associated infrastructure.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and construction documentation.
• Perform electrical system evaluations, feasibility studies, and design alternatives analyses.
• Review electrical designs and calculations to ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and applicable industry standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to coordinate electrical designs and resolve technical challenges.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Support project managers with scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout design and construction.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews, construction administration, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience designing systems for commercial, industrial, government, academic, R&D, multifamily, or similar projects.
• Strong experience in electrical power distribution, lighting, grounding, and system design.
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop and review electrical calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NEC and IEEE.
• Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and/or lighting design tools (AGI, Visual, etc.).
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing technical deliverables.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
