Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical discipline for industrial manufacturing, data center, mission-critical, and selected energy infrastructure projects.

This role will lead electrical design and multidisciplinary coordination from early planning and utility engagement through permitting, construction, and commissioning. The engineer may serve as Engineer of Record for assigned electrical scopes and will sign and seal only work personally performed or completed under their responsible charge.

The ideal candidate brings strong facility electrical design experience. Exposure to onsite generation, microgrids, islanded power systems, gas-turbine or reciprocating-engine generation, and battery energy storage is highly valued but is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medium- and low-voltage electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, grounding and bonding, emergency and standby power, and life-safety interfaces.
  • Prepare and review one-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, equipment specifications, and electrical plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, process and mechanical teams, equipment vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Integrate substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, ATS/paralleling systems, and BESS where applicable.
  • Support permitting, plan-check responses, RFIs, submittal reviews, field coordination, testing, and commissioning.
  • Establish electrical design standards and QA/QC procedures and mentor engineers and designers.
  • Support technical proposals, scope and fee development, client meetings, and project pursuits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Seven or more years of relevant electrical design experience.
  • Active PE license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; Texas PE license or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the NEC, applicable NFPA standards, and industrial or mission-critical power systems.
  • Experience leading coordinated design deliverables and supporting projects through construction.
  • Strong written, verbal, client-facing, and project execution skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial manufacturing, data center, or mission-critical project experience.
  • Experience with medium-voltage distribution, protective coordination, arc-flash studies, UPS, generators, BESS, or redundant power architectures.
  • Familiarity with onsite generation, microgrids, islanding, synchronization, protective relaying, load shedding, or black-start concepts.
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Revit, AutoCAD, or comparable tools.
  • Multi-state licensure and Mandarin/English bilingual ability are preferred but not required.
