Job summary

Our client, a national engineering and architecture firm, is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead complex commercial building projects from design through construction. The role offers technical leadership, collaboration across engineering disciplines, and the chance to mentor junior engineers.

The position requires a PE license in Electrical Engineering and about 10–15 years of design and project management experience in commercial MEP and fire protection systems.

Qualifications

• PE license in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of engineering design and project management in commercial MEP and fire protection.
• ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects across multiple disciplines.
• Strong skills in calculations, construction docs, specs, and QC.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, calculations, and specs for quality and code compliance.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, civil, structural, and environmental teams.
• Provide site support through visits, submittal reviews, and technical issue resolution.
• Direct electrical system design and decisions for large commercial projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage schedules, budgets, and resources with clients and teams.

An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, calculations, and specifications for quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, civil, structural, and environmental engineering teams.
• Provide construction support through site visits, submittal reviews, and resolution of engineering questions.
• Direct electrical system design and technical decisions for large or complex commercial projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and work with clients and project teams to manage schedules, budgets, and resources.

Requirements

• Active PE license in Electrical Engineering.
• Approximately 10–15 years of engineering design and project management experience involving commercial MEP and fire protection systems.
• An engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET-accredited university.
• Demonstrated success leading complex projects and coordinating work across multiple disciplines.
• Strong skills in electrical calculations, construction documentation, technical specifications, and quality control.
