I am currently representing a rapidly growing MEP, who are looking for a Associate Electrical Engineer to aid design on projects valuing up to $1Bn+ across multiple sectors. They have been recognised as the "Best Company to Work For", due to their work life balance and employee morale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of electrical power systems, including UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, switchgear, transformers, and distribution networks for mission-critical and high-performance environments.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and equipment specifications in compliance with industry standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.).
• Conduct power system studies, including short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, coordination studies, and load flow analysis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical engineers, architects, contractors) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
• Review and approve electrical designs, ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards.
• Participate in construction administration, including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in power distribution, energy efficiency, and renewable energy integration.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering (or related field).
• 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power distribution, UPS systems, and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SKM PowerTools, ETAP).

Experience working across sectors such as:

• Commercial

• Mission Critical
• Science & Technology
• Knowledge of generator systems, ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches), and emergency power systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and project documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• PE or EIT not required but preferred.
• Experience within 1 of the sectors provided above is required.
