Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP seeks a Senior Drafter to support a major electric utility client in a hybrid work setting. You will develop and modify drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent software, prepare BOMs, and assist engineers with document management and project coordination.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of drafting in a consulting engineering environment, strong CAD skills, and the ability to work under supervision while coordinating with engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in consulting engineering firm or equivalent experience in similar role.
• Proficient in ACAD, Microstation and/or other similar software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Strong understanding of timekeeping and working in team environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Understands project workflows.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize 2D or 3D Computer Aided Design software to create drawings including one lines, three lines, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, layout and detail drawings.
• Utilize engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in the designing, detailing, documenting, and verifying of electrical parts, subassemblies, assemblies or system configurations.
• Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including necessary projections, sectional views and standard specifications.
• Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design.
• Check and verify the accuracy of drawings prepared by others.
• Prepare bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are complete. Revise drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.
• Implement revisions and change control per company standards at the direction of senior level designers and engineers.
• Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings as needed.
• Performs required document management functions including tracking, receiving, storing, retrieving, copying/scanning of project documents.
• Create new project folders and submit project documents to clients.
• Effectively and accurately communicate relative project information to project design team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
