Job summary

S&B is seeking an Instrument/Electrical Designer in a role that requires minimal supervision and the ability to handle moderately-difficult drafting/design tasks in accordance with industry standards. The position supports design concepts, drafting, and field-related tasks within a hybrid work environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma with drafting tech training or a 2-year drafting/design degree, plus several years of related experience and proficiency with CADD equipment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with vocational/technical training in basic drafting technology (or equivalent working knowledge/experience), or a 2-year degree in drafting/design technology.
• Normally requires a high school graduate with vocational/technical training in basic drafting technology and minimum 6 years related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience), or a 2-year degree in drafting/design technology and 5 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares moderately-difficult to difficult engineering and construction drawings for a complete phase of a project, utilizing manual and computer-assisted drafting/design techniques.
• Performs discipline design tasks which regularly require the application of fundamental engineering concepts and mathematical formulas.
• Reviews manufacturers' and/or fabricators' prints for conformance with contract specifications.
• Performs routine checking and/or verification tasks.
• Supports field assignments as required.
