Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Designer – Project Manager – CF to lead design efforts across multiple projects. You will convert client goals into system designs, manage budgets, scheduling, and resources, and coordinate with engineers and clients to ensure timely delivery.

The role emphasizes client management, project contracts, and QA/QC, with a focus on cross-disciplinary coordination and staff development within a global firm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with trade school certification in CAD Mechanical or Electrical fields or AA degree in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical field relevant experience.
• 8+ years of experience in the Electrical fields.
• Advanced skills with the MS Office Suites including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat/Reader.
• Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in design and calculation software.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Convert client goals into system designs and solutions considering budget, health, safety, and local systems.
• Represent the firm in interactions with clients, contractors, and project team members.
• Coordinate and assign projects to be performed by the design team.
• Supervise and lead the design team under the Engineer of Record; recruit, train, and assess staff.
• Maintain interdisciplinary coordination with other trades and consultants.
• Prepare reports and analyze system options and building conditions.
• Create and manage budgets, scheduling, and resources.
• Oversee QA/QC for the project and manage correspondence with stakeholders.
• Prepare proposals and administer project contracts, including addenda review.
• Address construction administration duties such as field reports and RFIs.
