Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior electrical designer in Chicago, IL to lead design efforts for power plant electrical systems. You will supervise design deliverables, coordinate with project leads, and guide staff across multiple projects, including grounding, raceways, lighting, and electrical layouts.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering teams, budget oversight, and field data collection. Hybrid work is offered with in-office collaboration three days per week.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent design experience required.
• 15+ years of detailed physical design experience in grounding layouts and raceway drawings.
• Experience reviewing electrical physical layout drawings and equipment outlines.
• Ability to assist engineers with initial design requirements.
• Produce physical construction layout drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review, supervise and guide production of design deliverables.
• Lead and coordinate multiple teams across projects.
• Develop and monitor project scopes, budgets and schedules.
• Oversee staff assignments, evaluations and career development.
• Lead field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
