Syska Hennessy Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Critical Facilities, with 8+ years in a consulting/MEP environment and PE certification. The role focuses on data center design across markets worldwide, advancing major projects from our Chicago office.

You will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with a flexible schedule (Mon-Thu in office 9 hours, Fri 4 hours remote) and participate in technical leadership and staff mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an Accredited Institution is required.
• 8+ years of experience in a consulting firm in the MEP/engineering field for a senior level role.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience; PE is required; hands-on design with CAD/REVIT experience.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Firm in interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams.
• Create basic designs under direction; develop specifications, system narratives, and layouts for various projects.
• Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
• Supervise preparation of reports and analysis of system options and building conditions.
• Maintain coordination with other trades/projects consultants.
• Monitor correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, owners, etc.
• Supervise construction administrative duties (RFIs, bulletins, addenda).
• Participate in Technical Leadership Committee and mentor staff.
