Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer for our Lexington, KY office. This role leads electrical design on construction drawings and documents, ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with architects and clients.

The position requires 7+ years of design experience, familiarity with NEC/IVC/NFPA101 and energy codes, and strong communication skills. It is an on-site opportunity with growth within a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electrical Design drafting or related field.
• 7+ years of design experience.
• Familiar with NEC, IVC, NFPA101, and energy codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that electrical design documents are produced accurately and completely.
• Complete interior and exterior lighting aspects of a project by selecting fixtures and gathering aesthetic information for the client.
• Design electronic communication systems and electronic safety and security systems.
• Accurately calculate electrical load and size electrical equipment.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with other disciplines, architects, and clients.
• Participate in construction meetings and on-site visits.
