Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to provide conceptual design for HVAC projects. You will supervise the workflow of junior engineers and direct design activities across small to large projects.

Responsibilities include attending project team meetings, preparing redline designs for estimating, and performing calculations such as heating/cooling loads and equipment sizing. Site inspections ensure documents meet requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• PE license is required.
• 5+ years of experience in design of HVAC or related systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/plumbing system design and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design meetings as the design professional on project teams.
• Prepare complex preliminary redline designs for estimating.
• Perform complex calculations (heating/cooling loads, equipment sizing).
• Conduct site inspections to verify construction documents and resolve issues.
• Supervise or direct workflow of less-experienced engineers on HVAC or related systems.
