Job summary

MCM Engineering is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and development of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and ensure designs meet IEC/IEEE/UL standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will guide complex projects from concept through manufacturing and testing, supporting ongoing process improvements and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical expertise in switchgear and power distribution system design.
• Lead engineering teams and mentor engineers.
• Independently manage complex projects with minimal oversight.
• Evaluate technical options and make sound engineering decisions.
• Communicate technical concepts to customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex electrical switchgear systems including diagrams and control circuits.
• Specify electrical components and advise on application and compliance.
• Create and revise engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in customer reviews.
• Support manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and post-shipment activities.
