Job summary

McM Engineering II, Inc. seeks a Design Engineer to design, develop, and document low to medium voltage switchgear and power distribution systems in an on-site Utah setting.

You will ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements while delivering reliable electrical designs. Responsibilities include CAD work with AutoCAD and E-Plan, component specification, cross‑functional collaboration, and maintaining project documentation with timely stakeholder updates.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in switchgear or power distribution design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and E-Plan, and Microsoft software.
• Familiarity with low and medium voltage systems up to 38kV.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection and control systems.
• Compliance with IEC, IEEE, UL, NEMA and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document LV to MV switchgear and power distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, customer requirements, and MCM quality standards.
• Create and revise engineering drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, E-Plan).
• Select and specify electrical components such as breakers, relays, CTs, PTs, bus bars, and protective devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.
• Review and interpret customer specifications and provide technical input during submittal, production, and post-shipment phases.
• Maintain project documentation and provide timely updates to project stakeholders.
