Job summary

MCM Engineering II is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and documentation of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and support continuous improvement within the engineering department.

You will ensure compliance with IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE standards and collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver robust designs and successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical expertise in switchgear and power distribution design.
• Experience leading complex projects from concept through manufacturing and testing.
• Experience reviewing and approving engineering deliverables.
• Mentorship or training experience for engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex electrical switchgear systems and drawings.
• Specify electrical components and guide on coordination and compliance.
• Create and revise CAD drawings using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ensure designs meet IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, project management and manufacturing teams.
• Participate in customer reviews and provide engineering input through project phases.
• Resolve technical issues during manufacturing, testing, and commissioning.
