Job summary

UpCore Solutions seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and documentation of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems, offering technical leadership and mentorship within the engineering team.

The role requires overseeing complex projects from concept through manufacturing and testing, ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE/UL standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust designs and engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in switchgear or power distribution equipment design.
• Experience leading complex projects from concept through manufacturing and testing.
• Experience mentoring or training engineers.
• Advanced understanding of low- and medium-voltage systems (up to 38kV).
• Advanced understanding of electrical protection and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex electrical switchgear systems including general requirements, elevation and plan views, one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Design Engineers and Engineering Interns.
• Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
• Create and revise engineering drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.
• Support resolution of technical issues during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and post-shipment activities.
