Job summary
Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design and validation across major subsystems. You will own schematics, BOMs, and specifications while driving design reviews, prototypes, testing, and troubleshooting.
The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of industrial design experience, with strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion and system integration. Remote work is supported with up to 20% travel within the USA.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering required.
- 5+ years in electrical design or electromechanical systems.
- Experience with switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks and generators.
- Familiar with NEC/UL and derating criteria.
- Travel up to 20% within the USA.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design and validation for subsystems and product areas.
- Own schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications, and BOMs.
- Drive design reviews, trade studies, prototype builds, testing and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality and project teams.
- Mentor early‑career engineers and reinforce electrical standards.
- Support project planning, estimation and execution.
