Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our remote team. You will lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems, translate requirements into robust designs, own schematics, drawings, and BOMs, and drive design reviews and validation activities.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering and ~5+ years in electrical design or electromechanical systems, with knowledge of power distribution, NEC/UL criteria, and experience with AutoCAD

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering is required.
About 5+ years in electrical design or electromechanical systems.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring, controls and system integration.
Experience specifying switches, generators, and related electrical components.
Familiar with NEC and UL criteria and design documentation processes.
Proven design verification, testing, and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems and product areas.
Translate system requirements into practical, robust electrical designs.
Own schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications, and bills of material.
Drive design reviews, trade studies, prototype builds, testing and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality and project teams.
Mentor early-career engineers and reinforce electrical design standards.
Support project planning, effort estimation, and execution.
Contribute to projects that impact communities across North America.
