Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer 5 to join our team in the United States, focusing on electrical master plans, power systems, and related analyses. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to projects that support critical infrastructure.

You will perform studies, site reviews, and technical documentation while mentoring junior staff and helping drive proposals with sales. A sign-on bonus may be considered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• PE license required.
• 7 years of relevant experience; travel may be required.
• Experience with power system analysis and design.
• Experience with site reviews and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop basic to highly complex electrical master plans and power system designs.
• Perform power system studies, calculations, and lighting simulations.
• Conduct site reviews to confirm conditions and align with requirements.
• Contribute to TKMs program with white papers, design documentation, and case studies.
• Prepare technical papers and designs for publication in industry journals.
• Collaborate with sales to develop client proposals and ensure alignment with standards.
• Meet with clients to understand design needs and develop technical solutions.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise engineers as assigned.
