Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Operations Support Engineering team to ensure reliability of electrical equipment and oversee maintenance planning. The role involves owning electrical systems, serving as SME, and coordinating with Design, Maintenance & Operations to align schedules and budgets.

The candidate should have ABET-accredited engineering credentials, with 4+ years of engineering experience; a Master’s degree may substitute for a BS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Master's degree in engineering may be considered in lieu of BS.
  • Minimum of 4 years engineering experience.
  • Senior levels require greater independence and advanced skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical systems or components with varying complexity.
  • Serve as site SME on assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinate with Design, Maintenance & Operations to manage concerns, schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches for defined problems.
