Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing seeks an experienced engineering professional to develop functioning prototypes for ATV/SxS vehicles, applying new technologies to meet business targets and quality standards.

You will lead layout development, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive cost targets while ensuring manufacturing feasibility. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in Powersports/Automotive are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field.
• 5+ years engineering experience preferably in Powersports or Automotive field.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Ability to interact/communicate effectively with staff/management.
• Competent in FTA, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups and application.
• Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization.
• Competent drawing and layout skills/techniques, include understanding of CAE principles.
• Competent in creating a plan and schedule.
• Competent in understand product development schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop or guide others to develop complex component and system layouts for ATV/SxS prototype vehicles using CAD to meet targets and manufacturing requirements.
• Establish or lead cost targets for parts and achieve targets through design optimization and cost reduction ideas.
• Create and manage work schedules, coordinate resources, and communicate project status; lead meetings and development events.
• Generate advanced ideas and contribute to strategies for new technologies and development applications.
• Support or lead market quality themes; analyze root causes and develop specs with minimal supervision.
