Job Title: Senior (Design) Electrical Engineer

Our client is an exciting, development-stage innovator within the advanced medical device space. They have an immediate opportunity for a creative, design-savvy Senior (Design) Electrical Engineer to support their product development needs.

While this is considered a hybrid role, qualified candidates must be able to spend 3 days/week onsite at their offices in Santa Cruz.

Responsibilities Include:

• PCB design, including component selection, schematic creation, and board layout following best practices
• Technical leadership on projects from concept to product launch; managing requirements, design, testing, transfer to manufacturing, and product release process
• Prototype development including testing and analyses
• Collaborate with software and engineering teams to improve current and/or design new embedded architectures

Qualifications Include:

• BE or ME in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 5+ years of relevant experience in medical products, consumer electronics, electric vehicles, robotics, automation, or other advanced electromechanical systems—preferably within a regulated industry
• Detailed understanding of common buses and communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART for interfacing with sensors and peripherals
• Knowledge of Altium or similar ECAD tools for schematic drafting and PCB layout management
