Job summary

Williams is seeking a Staff Electrical Commissioning Project Manager to lead on-site commissioning for power generation assets, substations, and electrical distribution equipment from mechanical completion through energization and turnover to Operations.

You will develop commissioning strategies, schedule outages and testing, and coordinate with operations, engineering, and vendors to ensure safety and compliance while delivering projects on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited school with 15+ years in operations, construction, or commissioning for oil/gas pipelines, meters, power plants, or facilities.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited school with 20+ years in related operations, construction, or commissioning.
• Direct experience commissioning power generation facilities, substations, or utility-scale electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site leadership to Operations, contractors, engineering, and support staff during commissioning.
• Direct Asset Commissioning Process implementation and coordinate activities.
• Develop electrical commissioning strategy, boundaries, and integrated schedule for power projects.
• Schedule pre-commissioning meetings and mobilize commissioning teams to site.
• Ensure ACP staffing meets in-service date and monitor progress against site plan.
• Review electrical design deliverables for commissioning readiness.
• Support FAT testing, software testing, and commissioning work plans.
• Coordinate vendor representatives for commissioning work.
• Verify mechanical completion and turnover packages before energization.
• Lead electrical commissioning and startup of gas turbines, engines, GSU transformers, and balance-of-plant systems.
