Job summary

Archer, based in San Jose, CA, is scaling production of its Electric Propulsion System (EPS) for a four-passenger eVTOL aircraft. We are seeking Senior and Staff Manufacturing Engineers who bridge design and production to create scalable manufacturing systems and world‑class hardware from the ground up.

Responsibilities include designing and scaling the EPS production line, collaborating across teams, and leading DFM, MBOM, and automation strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 1–6+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in EV, aerospace, or advanced hardware production.
• Proven experience in equipment commissioning and OEE improvement.
• Hands-on experience building mechanical and electronic assemblies using sophisticated manufacturing tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale Archer’s EPS production line from concept to high-rate manufacturing, including layout, automation strategy, tooling, and ramp‑up planning.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, Quality, Facilities, and Manufacturing teams to bring new electric motor and propeller systems into production.
• Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) efforts for efficient, safe, scalable production.
• Develop and execute manufacturing build plans with part flow, line layout, tools, equipment, and MBOM.
• Specify and validate automation systems, tooling, and test equipment for high‑reliability production.
• Perform PFMEA to proactively identify and mitigate risk in the production system.
• Author and approve detailed work instructions for EPS assembly and installation.
• Support first article builds and production validation testing for stability and repeatability.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving.
