Job summary

Archer in San Jose seeks a senior manufacturing engineering leader to oversee Final Assembly, optimize build sequencing, and drive cross-functional integration to support certification of our all-electric VTOL program.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensure robust processes, and collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and fuselage/wing IPTs to build a scalable, safe aircraft ready for production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience with final assembly for prototypes or experimental programs (EVTOL, rotorcraft, or other emerging aircraft strongly preferred)
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary manufacturing teams in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., CATIA, NX) and familiarity with PLM/MES systems.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills for integrating complex systems under tight deadlines.
• Deep understanding of mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and aircraft assembly requirements including FAA considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of manufacturing engineers for Final Assembly and optimize build sequencing.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to resolve fit, alignment, and system-integration challenges quickly.
• Oversee the creation of detailed work instructions, quality checkpoints, and fixture/tooling requirements for consistency across shifts and builds.
• Serve as the technical authority for the Final Assembly Integrated Product Team, ensuring robust, repeatable processes for certification and ramp.
• Provide technical leadership for Final Assembly build operations, including structure integration, system installations, and overall sequencing, while coordinating with Fuselage and Wing IPTs.
