Job summary

Archer is scaling production of its High Voltage Electric Propulsion System for an all-electric eVTOL aircraft. The Manufacturing Design Engineering Manager will lead a fast-paced team, owning equipment from RFQ to ramp, ensuring DFM feedback shapes early designs and delivers high-throughput production.

You will partner with Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain to optimize automated assembly, manage budgets, and report program status to executives.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering (or equivalent) with 2+ years of technical management and 5+ years in high-volume automated manufacturing.
• Deep core expertise in at least one drive unit subsystem (Stator, Rotor, Inverter, Gearbox, or Actuators) and knowledge of automated assembly processes.
• Hands-on experience developing specifications for PLCs, industrial automation, vision systems, torque tools, and safety devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the MDE team for Electric Motor/Drive Unit production lines, including hiring and career development.
• Own end-to-end equipment execution from RFQ through FAT/SAT, commissioning, and ramp-up with capex budgeting.
• Drive DFM feedback from product design to optimize for automated assembly.
