Job summary

Archer is seeking a Powertrain Manufacturing Engineer to scale production of our Electric Propulsion System (EPS) for the all-electric eVTOL aircraft. You will design for manufacturability, plan high-rate manufacturing layouts, and collaborate across Product Design, Quality, Facilities, and Manufacturing to bring motor and propeller systems into production.

You will define part flow, tooling, MBOM, and automation strategies, validating systems and supporting first article builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in EV, aerospace, or advanced hardware.
• Experience building mechanical and electronic assemblies using sophisticated tools.
• Strong CAD/PLM/MES/ERP knowledge and data-driven problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and scaling of Archer's EPS production line from concept to high-rate manufacturing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, Quality, Facilities, and Manufacturing to bring motor and propeller systems into production.
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to ensure products are built efficiently, safely, and at scale.
• Develop and execute manufacturing build plans — part flow, line layout, MBOM, tooling, and automation.
• Specify and validate automation systems, tooling, and test equipment for high-reliability production.
• Perform PFMEA to proactively identify and mitigate risk in the production system.
• Author and approve detailed work instructions for EPS assembly and installation.
• Support first article builds and production validation testing to ensure process stability.
