Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer in the Allentown, PA area to design electrical distribution systems for utility customers. You will work with GIS and work management systems to craft detailed packages and manage scope, schedule, and budgets.

In this role, strong communication and field collaboration are essential. You will coordinate with utilities, prepare large design packages, and ensure adherence to client priorities while traveling regionally when required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in electric utility design engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required; must hold or be able to obtain licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Experience with NESC and coordination of protective devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, and Make Ready using GIS and WMS systems (ArcGIS, Smallworld, etc.).
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work.
• Perform functional tasks, planning, and client follow-up.
• Perform scope analysis and maintain schedule adherence to client priorities.
• Initiate workflow improvements to drive efficiency and quality in design deliverables.
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments; handle easements and ROW applications.
• Be comfortable in field and office settings with local/regional travel as needed.
