Xcel Energy, a Fortune 500 energy provider, is seeking a Masterful Designer II to lead distribution design projects for commercial, industrial, and residential customers. This role balances customer needs with Xcel Energy standards, acting as the primary design liaison and guiding design teams through complex projects.

Travel and after-hours support may be required. Strong knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and MS Office is expected, with a focus on collaboration and cost-effective

Qualifications

Associate degree in drafting or related field required; equivalent design experience considered.
Minimum 2 years as a Designer I or equivalent; design/drafting and project management knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Design safe operating facilities for new and existing customers per standards and guidelines.
Manage design projects from initial contact through post-project analysis and budget adherence.
Mentor and train designers; lead cross-team collaboration to meet goals.
Represent the company with officials, contractors, and engineers to serve customers.
