Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an entry-level Distribution Designer to provide design project management for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The role serves as the primary contact for customers, balancing needs with Xcel standards and guidelines, and may assist after hours during emergencies.

The position supports a hybrid work model with onsite days and requires relevant design or drafting credentials, GIS knowledge, and proficiency in design software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Assoc. Degree in drafting, design, automation, electronics, mechatronics, engineering, GIS or related field.
• In lieu of an Assoc. Degree: combination of education and experience in design/drafting, construction, PM, or electronics.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initial customer contact through post-project analysis.
• Establish and manage construction work plans to meet customer schedules and budgets.
• Design safe operating facilities per Xcel Energy standards and provide cost-effective designs.
