Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Distribution Designer in Minnesota to provide design project management for the least complex areas and to serve customers from initial contact through final delivery. The role will liaise with construction personnel and customers, ensuring designs meet standards and budgets, with responsibilities spanning permits, contracts, and coordination with agencies.

Qualifications

Assoc. Degree in one of the listed fields or equivalent knowledge.
In lieu of the degree, education/experience in design/drafting/construction/project management/electronics.
Working knowledge of GIS, design software, work management programs, and related systems desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage projects from initial customer contact through post project analysis.
Establish and manage the construction work plan to meet customer schedules and design requirements.
Design safe operating facilities according to company standards and guidelines.
Provide distribution design project management for the least complex areas.
Obtain permits and easements in compliance with regulations.
Execute contracts and agreements per instructions and regulatory requirements.
Represent the company with government officials, contractors, and engineers to serve customers.
