Job summary
Xcel Energy is hiring for Entry to Senior Distribution Designer roles in Minnesota. The positions focus on distribution design project management for the least complex areas, managing customer interactions, and coordinating with construction personnel to deliver compliant, cost-effective designs.
Roles require an associated degree in drafting/design/engineering or equivalent experience, familiarity with GIS and design tools, and the ability to operate within a hybrid work model with on-site
Qualifications
- Assoc. Degree in drafting, design, automation, electronics, mechatronics, engineering, GIS, or related field.
- In lieu of degree: education and experience in design/drafting, construction, project management, or electronics providing equivalent knowledge.
- Knowledge of GIS, design software, work management programs, and related systems desirable.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial customer contact through post project analysis.
- Design safe operating facilities and provide distribution design project management for the least complex areas.
- Obtain permits and easements and execute contracts in compliance with regulations.
- Represent the Company with government officials, contractors, and engineers to serve customers.
