Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Electrician/Automation Technician to maintain and repair facility equipment, ensuring zero production loss. You will diagnose, install and perform preventive maintenance while assisting Refrigeration Tech on shift.

Requires knowledge of basic mechanics, HVAC, ammonia refrigeration and drive components; able to lift 100 lbs and work in -40 to degree temperatures, with weekend availability and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Strong reading, math, writing and analytical skills.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.
• Able to work weekends and pass a pulmonary function test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, repair, rebuild and install equipment to keep production running.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist Refrigeration Technician.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE and lockout/tagout.
