Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Search Relevance team. You will influence the technical direction, design and implement new search features, and resolve complex bugs in a globally distributed environment.

You will work on vector search capabilities, contribute to performance improvements, and collaborate across continents with engineers using GitHub, Zoom, and Slack. Proficiency in Java is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience building search/relevance features at scale.
• Strong knowledge of Java and concurrency.
• Experience with vector search or similar algorithms.
• Ability to work asynchronously in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to deliver industry-leading search with speed and relevance.
• Build new features and fix bugs, sometimes designing new algorithms.
