Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Search Relevance team. You will contribute to designing and implementing new search features, improving relevance, and solving complex bugs on a globally distributed engineering effort.

The role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration across time zones, Java expertise, and influence over the technical direction of search capabilities, including vector search integration and working with open source

Qualifications

• Experience delivering search platforms at scale with large user bases.
• Strong Java and concurrent programming skills.
• Familiarity with vector similarity and database internals.
• Ability to work asynchronously in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to deliver industry-leading search with speed and relevance.
