Stanley Black & Decker is seeking an EHS Senior Specialist in Allentown, PA to lead development and continuous improvement of EHS programs. You will ensure compliance with regulations and company standards, fostering a strong safety culture and operational excellence.

The role includes program development, training, audits, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration to maintain records and drive safety initiatives across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in occupational safety, health, and environmental management; heavy industrial/manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance site EHS programs and ensure policy/regulatory compliance.
  • Lead inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate EHS training for new hires and staff.
  • Monitor and document EHS performance data for continuous improvement.
  • Manage internal/external stakeholder communications and audits.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; oversee corrective actions.

EHS Senior Specialist

On-site - Allentown, PA

Job Summary

The Sr. EHS Specialist provides advanced technical support for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs at the facility. Serves as a subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with EHS regulatory requirements and SBD standards, driving a positive safety culture and supporting operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the development, enhancement, and execution of site-specific EHS programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation and adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • To include, but not limited to: Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Waste Management, Stormwater, Ergonomics, Emergency Response.
  • Facilitate and support EHS training programs for new hires and all employees to ensure understanding and adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Lead EHS inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement and need for corrective actions.
  • Monitor and fulfill compliance obligations by staying current with regulations, while ensuring EHS records are accurately documented, organized, and retained according to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage activities for internal and external stakeholders, including internal compliance audits, external EHS agency interactions, customer requests, etc.
  • Actively support EHS committee meetings and champion employee engagement in safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and oversee the implementation and closure of corrective actions.
  • Review and maintain reporting, monitoring, and analyzing of EHS performance data to drive continuous improvement and inform decision‑making.
  • Provide input and support for annual EHS budgeting and resource allocation processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of relevant experience in occupational safety, health, and environmental management. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in a heavy industrial setting, is strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS data management platforms is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of EHS management system standards, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Working Conditions
  • Occasional travel required, varied by role.
  • Flexibility is required to respond to emergencies.
