  • Minimum of 4–7 years of relevant experience in occupational safety, health and environmental management; heavy industrial manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and improve site EHS programs in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
  • Lead EHS inspections, audits and corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate EHS training for new hires and staff and manage EHS records and reporting.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and maintain adherence to internal policies and standards.
  • Support budgeting, resource planning and coordination with internal/external stakeholders.

EHS Senior Specialist

Job Summary

The Sr. EHS Specialist provides advanced technical support for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs at the facility. Serves as a subject‑matter expert, ensuring compliance with EHS regulatory requirements and SBD standards, driving a positive safety culture and supporting operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the development, enhancement and execution of site‑specific EHS programs, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure effective implementation and adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Implement programs in areas such as Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Waste Management, Stormwater, Ergonomics and Emergency Response.
  • Facilitate and support EHS training programs for new hires and all employees to ensure understanding and adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Lead EHS inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement and need for corrective actions.
  • Monitor and fulfill compliance obligations by staying current with regulations, while ensuring EHS records are accurately documented, organized and retained according to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage activities for internal and external stakeholders, including internal compliance audits, external EHS agency interactions and customer requests.
  • Actively support EHS committee meetings and champion employee engagement in safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and oversee the implementation and closure of corrective actions.
  • Review, maintain and analyze EHS performance data to drive continuous improvement and inform decision‑making.
  • Provide input and support for annual EHS budgeting and resource allocation processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4–7 years of relevant experience in occupational safety, health and environmental management. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, especially in a heavy industrial setting, is strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS data management platforms is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of EHS management system standards, risk assessment methodologies and regulatory compliance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, prioritization and organizational skills.
Working Conditions
  • Occasional travel required, as the role demands.
  • Flexibility required to respond to emergencies.
Salary

Competitive annual salary range: $77,600.00 – $124,900.00, depending on experience, location and other factors.
