The position emphasizes policy development, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, training, and worker safety. CSP certification is preferred. Salary ranges from $115k to $140k with comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Health and Safety, Engineering or related field
• 10+ years in a health and safety role within manufacturing
• CSP designation preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial chemical processes

Responsibilities

• Policy development: design, implement, and maintain health and safety policies compliant with regulations
• Training: create and deliver training for managers and employees on workplace safety and hazardous materials handling
• Regulatory compliance: ensure site adheres to OSHA regulations with audits and recordkeeping
• Safety leadership: lead weekly safety meetings and coordinate EHS training
• Incident investigation: spearhead root cause analysis for incidents and near misses
• Environmental initiatives: collaborate with Corporate Environmental Dept to support environmental programs
• Incident reporting: manage reporting and follow-up with relevant agencies
• Workers' compensation: oversee site workers' compensation claims
• Process Safety Management: champion PSM practices and employee participation
• Job analysis: conduct routine job skills analysis and task assessments
• Safety culture: promote management commitment to safety at all levels
• Team leadership: mentor one safety professional
