Job summary

The EHS Specialist position at CPS, Inc. is based in a Chicago manufacturing facility and leads the development and delivery of health, safety, and environmental programs. You will work across all levels to drive continuous improvement and champion a proactive safety culture.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in EHS leadership within manufacturing, plus strong regulatory knowledge and experience implementing VPP principles. Occasional travel (~10%) is expected to support other company facilities.

Qualifications

3+ years of EHS leadership in manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Spanish language proficiency preferred.
Familiarity with VPP principles preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies compliant with regulations.
Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment.
Provide guidance on health and safety matters to employees and management.
Participate in incident investigations and drive root-cause analysis.
Develop and deliver safety training for employees.
Advance behavior-based safety programs with employee engagement.
Stay informed on industry safety practices and technologies.
Apply VPP concepts to enhance the safety program.
