Job summary

Ceres Environmental Operations seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Associate II to lead company-wide safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, Tribal, and client safety requirements.

This role serves as a department leader responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that protect employees, subcontractors, facilities, equipment, and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years of experience in occupational health and safety management, construction safety, environmental services, disaster response, or related industries.
• OSHA 30 Certification, OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510, HAZWOPER 40-Hour, EM-385-1-1.
• First Aid/CPR Certification and valid driver's license with clean record.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Tribal, federal, and state/local safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead company-wide health and safety programs, policies, and strategies.
• Supervise Safety Supervisors and safety personnel.
• Assess hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk analyses.
• Investigate accidents and root causes; implement corrective actions.
• Prepare accident reports per OSHA and client requirements.
• Develop and evaluate safety training programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and improve safety program effectiveness across operations.
• Ensure availability and proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
• Collaborate with operations to integrate safety into daily work.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
