Job summary

Ceres Environmental Operations seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Associate I to support field operations, ensure compliance with safety programs, and implement established safety plans across projects. This role reports to senior safety leadership and focuses on hazard identification and regulatory adherence.

The position requires travel to project sites, conducting inspections, delivering training, supporting investigations, and maintaining documentation to foster a proactive safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as a baseline for safety leadership roles.
• 5+ years of experience in occupational health and safety, construction safety, environmental services, or related industries.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with OSHA, EPA, asbestos regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce company health and safety programs, policies, and client-specific requirements.
• Conduct routine field safety inspections, audits, and worksite evaluations to identify hazards and verify compliance.
• Monitor employee and subcontractor compliance with safety requirements and PPE standards.
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and project-specific orientations.
• Support incident investigations and corrective action follow-up.
• Prepare safety inspection reports, incident documentation, and regulatory records.
• Monitor demolition, debris management, environmental remediation, and disaster recovery activities for safe practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
