Job summary

Ceres Environmental Operations seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Associate I to support field operations and ensure compliance with safety programs, client requirements, and OSHA, EPA, asbestos regulations. This role collaborates with senior safety leadership to implement safety plans, monitor field compliance, and support incident investigations.

The position emphasizes field presence, hazard identification, regulatory compliance, and creating a positive safety culture across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in occupational health and safety, construction safety, or related industries.
• OSHA 30, HAZWOPER 40-Hour, and First Aid/CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce health and safety programs, policies, and client requirements.
• Conduct routine field safety inspections, audits, and site evaluations for compliance.
• Monitor employee and subcontractor safety compliance and PPE use.
• Provide coaching on safe work practices and hazard recognition.
• Support investigations and corrective actions for incidents and near-misses.
• Prepare safety reports, documentation, and corrective action tracking.
• Deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Assist with client safety requirements and site-specific safety plans.
