Job summary

Biopharma Careers seeks a Senior EHS Manager for a cutting-edge semiconductor R&D site in San Jose, CA.

You will be the primary EHS authority, integrating safety into operations, research, and capital projects, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and SEMI standards.

Lead hazard analyses, training, contractor safety, and risk management across cleanroom, high-hazard chemistries, and equipment installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, EHS, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in semiconductor R&D or high-hazard environments.
• Expertise in high-hazard chemical safety, process safety management, and SEMI safety standards.
• Experience with process hazard analysis methodologies (HAZOP, FMEA, What-If, LOPA).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the site-wide EHS strategy aligned with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and semiconductor industry best practices.
• Provide expert counsel to senior leadership on EHS risks with new technologies and chemistries.
• Lead hazard identification via risk assessments, inspections and JHAs; emergency response; incident investigations; hazardous material handling; specialized training.
• Lead HAZOP/What-If analyses for new equipment, process changes, and facility modifications; oversee critical process safety elements.
