Job summary

Takeda is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for its Thousand Oaks manufacturing site. You will lead health and safety programs, maintain ISO 14001/45001 certifications, and ensure regulatory compliance across activities. The role reports to the Head of EHS.

You will oversee audits, risk registries, emergency planning, and cross-functional EHS improvement initiatives, partnering with operations to sustain safety performance and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, technical, or related EHS field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering).
• 5-10 years of EHS experience, preferably in a complex, high-risk environment.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred, or actively pursuing certification.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Proficiency in health and safety regulations, including California CFR, Federal CFR, DOT, IATA, CalEPA, and local laws.
• Understanding of regional EHS legislation and proactive response experience.
• Ability to identify EHS non-compliance and recommend or implement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage health & safety programs to protect employees, contractors, and the surrounding community.
• Drive EHS management system effectiveness and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, including setting program goals and targets.
• Oversee EHS audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance activities across the site.
• Identify and mitigate risks by maintaining the site EHS risk registry and implementing controls.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response with clear communication and documentation.
• Champion continuous improvement of EHS performance through data monitoring, training, and cross-functional support.
