Job summary

Enzene biosciences ltd seeks a Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee EHS in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, facilities, warehousing, and QC laboratories. The role ensures regulatory compliance and drives a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

You will lead safety programs, conduct audits and risk assessments, train staff, investigate incidents, manage hazardous waste, and support ISO certifications across-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; CSP/CIH a plus.
• 10+ years of EHS experience in biopharmaceutical, biotech, or lab environments; GMP exp a must (1–2 yrs).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FDA, and GMP regulations; able to train staff and lead audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop EHS programs and activities.
• Serve as on-site EHS rep during construction/commissioning and oversee maintenance compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections; recommend corrective actions.
• Lead site ISO certification efforts and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide EHS training on hazardous materials handling, waste management, and emergency response procedures.
• Monitor OSHA, EPA, FDA, and GMP regulatory compliance.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; document and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee hazardous waste disposal and chemical inventory management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed EHS best practices; maintain permits and regulatory reports.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response: fire safety, spill containment, evacuation.
• Coordinate with site landlord for facility EHS compliance; support major capital projects.
• Drive safety culture and continuous improvement; perform other duties.
