Job summary

Artis BioSolutions is hiring a Manager of Environmental Health & Safety to lead the EHS program across the site. You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Facilities, Engineering, and R&D to sustain a safe, compliant workplace supporting cGMP operations.

The role focuses on developing policies, training, and systems to minimize risk, manage incidents, and promote a culture of safety across biotechnology operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Approximately 5-8 years of progressive EHS experience in biotech/pharma or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MA regulations and other applicable federal/state/local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of company-wide EHS programs, policies, and training.
• Serve as primary EHS expert and partner with site leadership to mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, MA and other regulations across site.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, JHAs/JSAs, and ergonomic evaluations with corrective actions.
• Manage incident reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training including new-hire orientation and contractor training.
• Oversee hazardous materials, chemical safety, hazardous waste, and related programs.
• Coordinate biosafety program risk assessments and lab safety procedures.
