Job summary

Enzene INC in Pennington, NJ seeks a Sr Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead EHS across biopharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, facilities, warehousing, and QC labs. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regs and foster a culture of safety.

This exempt role drives risk assessment, audits, incident investigations, training, and regulatory reporting, while supporting ISO certifications and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; CSP/CIH a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead safety programs and activities.
• Serve as the on-site EHS representative during construction/commissioning and oversee maintenance compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs for regulatory compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Lead site efforts to achieve and maintain ISO certifications.
• Provide EHS training on hazardous materials handling, waste management, and emergency response procedures.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, and GMP regulations.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns with proper documentation and corrective actions.
• Oversee hazardous waste disposal, chemical inventory management, and sustainability initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed EHS best practices into daily operations.
• Maintain EHS documentation, permits, and regulatory reports; track safety statistics and trends.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response, including fire safety and evacuation procedures.
