Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller’s BW Packaging seeks a Senior Leader of Environmental Health & Safety to lead the EHS strategy across multiple manufacturing sites. You will drive regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and a culture of care while partnering with Operations, Field Service, and People teams to embed safety in daily work and oversee Workers’ Compensation strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, operations, engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience.
• Professional certifications, e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH IGC or NEBOSH Diploma, strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing EHS programs and influencing safety culture across multiple sites.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement standardized EHS systems in complex operational environments.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Significant experience with Workers’ Compensation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to influence across diverse functions, levels and cultures.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the EHS strategy aligned with business goals and culture expectations.
• Standardize EHS governance across sites and ensure consistent application.
• Advise executive leadership on EHS risks, trends, and regulatory impacts.
• Ensure OSHA compliance with regulatory bodies and local safety regulations.
• Lead incident investigations and RCCA actions.
• Develop, maintain, and improve safety programs (LOTO, arc flash, safe lifting & rigging, etc.).
• Drive safety culture, near-miss reporting, and safety Gemba program.
• Manage Workers’ Compensation program in the US with cost control.
