Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller’s BW Packaging seeks a Senior Leader, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to drive the strategic safety program across multiple manufacturing sites in the U.S. This role partners with Operations, People and Safety teams to embed world-class safety, reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will lead workers’ compensation strategy, oversee audits and RCCA processes, develop training, and build a culture of care with clear metrics and governance across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in safety, operations, engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH IGC/Diploma) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing EHS programs and influencing safety culture across multiple sites.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement standardized EHS systems.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Significant experience with Workers’ Compensation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to influence across diverse functions and levels.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the EHS strategy aligned with business goals and culture expectations.
• Establish standardized EHS governance, policies, and practices across sites.
• Advise executive leadership on EHS risks, trends, and regulatory impacts.
• Oversee OSHA compliance, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Lead Workers’ Compensation program with effective claim management and return-to-work.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for teams and contractors.
• Drive reduction of injuries and environmental risks through proactive metrics.
