Job summary

Bunge in Gibson City, Illinois seeks an experienced EHS leader to provide environment, health and safety leadership for the plant. The role drives the execution of EHS programs to prevent serious injuries, fatalities, and environmental incidents while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Reporting to the plant manager, you will lead safety initiatives, train staff, monitor permits, and partner with corporate teams to promote a safety-first culture and sustainable operations across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in safety/environmental science or engineering.
• 10+ years of safety and environmental experience.
• Proven track record improving SIF and HPE metrics.
• Strong knowledge of EHS standards and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication.
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute EHS programs to prevent serious injuries and environmental incidents.
• Provide technical EHS support to plant leadership and staff.
• Coach employees to promote a safety-first culture.
• Develop and deliver EHS training for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor compliance with global and local EHS regulations and permits.
• Conduct observations and audits to assess program effectiveness.
• Investigate injuries, incidents, and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Drive environmental sustainability initiatives with corporate teams.
• Ensure fire protection and emergency response plans are in place.
